PlanetDairy produces cheeses made from cow’s milk and plant parts. Sales are going well, but they will soon need more steam under the boilers as they want to expand their product portfolio and expand into new markets.
The Danish foodtech startup PlanetDairy saw the light of day in February 2022, and just over a year and a half ago, their hybrid cheeses, sold under the product name Audu, hit the market.
Right now they have two products on the shelves: grated mozzarella and grated cheddar. Two products that are selling quite well. Co-founder and CEO, Jakob Skovgaard, will not mention the specific sales figures to 24Victoria, but he is satisfied with the development.
“It’s going well. We’ve noticed a slight increase in sales, but we’d like to sell even more. We’re particularly keen to ensure that we’re still present on the shelves and have our rights, which is an achievement in itself. It’s always difficult to introduce a new product and brand, but food in particular takes time, as many consumers have habits they’d rather not change. We’ve also entered Sweden and Finland, so it’s going well,” he explains.
